Olive Branch or an agency?

Owners who’ve hired an agency describe the same three things: the site stops improving, replies slow down, and leaving can cost them the site. Here’s how we’re different, and when an agency is still the better pick.

The short version

An agency sells you a website and a monthly plan. We build the website and the tools your business runs on, then stay on to keep improving them.

A typical agencyOlive Branch
Who you talk to Often an account manager, who passes it on. The team that builds it.
What you own Depends on the contract. Some keep the domain or the site when you leave.1 Your choice: own everything outright, or spread the cost over a partnership.
Seeing progress Usually email, calls and a monthly report. Your own client portal: updates, requests and messages in one place.
Asking for a change Often sold as a monthly plan, for example $399 a month on a 12-month term.2 Send a request in the portal and watch it move from Received to Done.
Beyond the website The site and the marketing. Your CRM and scheduling are other software you rent. Tools built around how you work: a client portal, a CRM, follow-up that answers every inquiry.
After launch Upkeep, if you pay for it. We stay on and keep improving what we built.

What owners say

We read reviews of the agencies that established businesses hire. These are quoted word for word. Reviews lean negative, so read them as the words owners use, not as statistics.

The site stops getting better. [They] failed to make any improvements to the website
Replies slow down. The company is slow to respond to request for work on the site!
Leaving costs you the site. They have just removed our website that we paid over 50k Agent image is holding my website hostage.

Who owns what

You can own everything outright: the code, the domain and the hosting. Or you can spread the cost over a partnership. We’ll set it up the way that fits.

Either way, you can see everything we’ve built for you in your portal. Nobody should have to ask for their own website back.

Fewer logins, if you want them

Many established businesses run on a stack of rented software: the website from one company, the CRM from another, and scheduling, email and payments from three more. One reviewer called it “a series of solutions stitched together.”6

Figure 1. Six springs, six jars. Or one aqueduct and one basin.

If your tools are working, they stay, and we connect them. If a rented one is costing you, we can build a replacement, so inquiries, clients, requests and messages arrive in one place, behind one login, where you can see all of it.

When an agency fits better

We’re a small team, and we’d rather say so up front. An agency is likely the better call if:

  • You want someone to run large ad budgets day to day across many channels.
  • You need video crews, PR or print alongside the website, all from one shop.
  • You want a site built once and handed over, with no one looking after it.
  • You’d rather edit a template yourself. Then a site builder is cheaper than either of us.

What it costs

Studios that sell to established businesses publish prices like these. We checked each company’s own page on 25 October 2026. Prices change, so follow the links.

StudioPublished price
A local studio$5,000 flat for an 8-page site. An AI lead responder is $497 more.
A design studio$3,500, $4,500 or $7,000, plus $399 a month for hosting and edits on a 12-month term.
A boutique studio$2,500, $4,500 or $7,500 and up.
A creative agency$2,250, $3,750 or $5,000 and up. No retainers.
An AI-search agencyA full rebuild from $10,000, then $500 to $1,000 a month.
A Webflow agency$1,995 a month, as a month-to-month subscription.

Our builds are custom, so we don’t publish one price. Tell us what you’re juggling, and we’ll quote it after a first conversation.

Common questions

Do you only build websites?

No. The website is usually where we start, and for many clients it’s all they need. If it helps, we can also build a client portal, a CRM or follow-up that answers every inquiry, and we connect the tools you already like.

Who will I talk to?

The team that builds your work. Messages and requests go through your portal, so nothing gets lost in an inbox.

Do I own the website?

If you want to, from day one. You can also spread the cost over a partnership. We’ll set it up the way that fits.

Where do you work?

Anywhere. Everything we do runs through your portal and a call.
